On our first day back together in the lab after holidays, we started fresh by tidying up and deep-cleaning the lab!
The next day, the lab went bowling and had a dinner at Jean-Ju’s. A fun start! Happy New Year!
Congratulations, Xiaofang! A very well-written piece!
Many lab birthdays in November! This year Thanksgiving is a bit late so we got lucky to celebrate Xiaofang’s birthday together! Happy Birthday, Xiaofang!
We posted a new manuscript on CatSper epsilon in the channel assembly and activity modulation to bioRxiv! Congratulations, Jae, Huafeng, Gillian, and Jong-Nam! A great team effort!
Happy birthday, Tianyu!
Jean-Ju gives a keynote speaking at her alma mater, Johns Hopkins BCMB program. Visited Hopkins after more than 15 + years - some changes but also very familiar scenes of the buildings! Special feeling to come back and reconnect with my classmate, Luisa Cochella, who organized the retreat, as well as many good old faculty whose lectures I attended and meet new colleagues and students at this beautiful venue at Chesapeake Bay!
Dr. Tianyu Zhu has joined us as a postdoctoral fellow. Welcome to the team, Tianyu!
Caro’s last day! Caro had a wonderful year in Chung lab at Yale! We’ll miss all about you.
We welcome Elle Stearn and Lena Zenisek to work in Chung lab as undergraduate researchers this summer! Elle is a Yale college student and Yale First-Year Summer Research Fellow under supervision of Gillian and Cameron. Lena is a U Conn honors program student and work with Jong-Nam.
Chung lab presented foods from 5 countries (Chille, China, Germany, Korea, and USA) representing where we are from and it was a blast! “Your lab raised Dept. Happy Hour to another level!” someone told us. Certainly, the air-filled smell of pan-fried Korean pancake cooked on spot by Jong-Nam contributed to the scene quite a lot!
